My assignment involved working with the Stitched Christmas Star and presenting the Holiday Large Sentiments stamp and die set. I created a set of cards using holiday colors, green and purple. I love coverplates due the texture they give, whether applied to white cardstock or colored variants. For this project I made ink blending techniques on the textured background. This approach enhances the definition of the stitching produced by the die, as it interacts with the inked surface.
I used Evergreen on one card and Candy Violet and Regal Kiss inks on the other. I created a blended effect on the card front, gradually transitioned from lighter hues in the center, applying them gently, to deeper, more saturated shades as you move towards the edges.
Let it dry or set the ink with a heat gun. Splatter gold watercolor on the cards, especially on the sides, where the colors are deeper, and let it dry. I used Gansai Tambi watercolors. They have two shads of gold that are just amazing.
Heatemboss sentiments of your choice from the Holiday Large Sentiments stamp with gold embossing powder. Die cut bows and other designs with the Wrap Around Element dies from gold foiled cardstock. Adhere these to the cards along with the sentiments and add some gold pearls.
