For this delightful release, I crafted a vibrant trio of cards using the Overlapping Geometrics Stencil set. Exploring its myriad possibilities was an absolute joy. Selecting the perfect color palette was crucial, yet experimenting with various combinations was immensely satisfying. Choose ink colors, that work together well, that are close to each other on the color wheel. This is what I did here on my cards. The first two cards have the same colors in the background, but I applied them in different order.
- Waterfall
- Meadow
- Paradise
- Aquamarine
- Citron
- Paradise
I must tell you that I did not like it first. As you know, dye inks can sometimes appear uneven or patchy until they fully set into the paper, which can take several minutes. It's a lesson in patience, as I nearly discarded the first background in frustration. However, I'm glad I waited, as the result turned out unexpectedly beautiful. In fact, I still have an additional background that initially didn't meet my expectations. But upon revisiting it, I've grown to appreciate its charm. So, I now have another blue-green-yellow background waiting to be transformed into a lovely card!
A word of advice for those considering using yellow in combination with blue: be mindful that if you apply it over a large surface area, the yellow in going to shift all the blue towards a green hue, so you loose all blue. Apply the colors with light hand, you can always add more, especially on the sides.
On the second card I used the same colors but in a different order:
- Waterfall
- Paradise
- Meadow
- Eucalyptus
- Citron
- Waterfall
Now let's speak about the decoration. I used the Joyful Day Press plate for heat foiling. I made a bunch of different foiled images with different colors. The Press plate foils beautifully, and this was the first time that I used it on holographic cardstock. It worked out amazing, don't you think?
It is not a secret that I created other colors combinations for the background. I show you one now, and two others you are going to see tomorrow on the IG hop.
This one is my favorite card of this set.
The colors are:
- Sparkling Rose
- Sunshine
- Cherry Blossom
- Clementine
- Sparkling Rose
- Raspberry Bliss
I made a Reel creating these cards, you are going to see them soon, first at Pinkfresh IG chanell, and later on mine as well.

TörlésLovely cards
VálaszTörlésI'm not sure I understand how you got the beautiful foiled leaves.
VálaszTörlésHi! I used my hot foil machine and foil along with the Pinkfresh press plate with the leaves. For the reverse images (the ones fully foiled)- I used the foil that was leftover after foiling the the image. This leftover foil when used with a solid hot foil plate, gives an awesome reverse image. Sorry, maybe my english is not as clear as it should be :D ♥
