Pinkfresh Studio “The Couture Edit” Release Blog Hop

Today I am introducing the Arched Elegance stencil set and coordinating die. The design features a beautiful large door, and I imagined it in soft lilac tones. I used Hydrangea and Opulence inks along with a touch of Sheer Freesia to build the color. I created two door sets. I wanted the windows to feel as if light was shining through them, so I blended a little Sunshine ink on the inside panels of the door on the cover.

The idea behind the card is that the outside of the card represents the outside of the door. When you open the card, you see the inside of the door.

To achieve this effect, I first glued one door piece onto the front of the card base and then carefully trimmed the card base with scissors following the shape of the door. After that, I adhered the second door piece to the inside of the card so that it lines up when the card is opened.

I used and old cover plate in the inside, it is not in the shop any more, I am so sorry for that, but you can easily replace it with any other design. I just wanted to have some texture, as it is always a good idea, right?

For the inside - I used the Fragrance Notes press plates to stamp and the coordinating stencils and dies for creating the cute flowers. I needed some decoration and they were just perfect! I placed them in a way, that you can see most of the flowers from the outside, but the sentiments only when you open the card.
